mother earth

you know how to use your fingers
like mother nature's
knowledge of late-night rain
falling on the soil of her land
and calling on the soul of her man
to make waves as wide
as the atlantic ocean
and reach deeper
than the grand canyon.

you know how to move me
like the wind's womanly intuition
knows exactly what breeze
moves stagnant tree branches.

you know how to pull me in and kiss me
like gravity's flirtation with the flight of man.
i am naturally drawn to the touch of your hand,
the taste of your lips;
the fruit of this land.

you've carved poems into my body
and made my limbs reach out
for invisible movements.
