WHAT IS THIS?: i recorded another record in may of 2009. it was originally intended for personal use only, but i decided to share it with all of you. for free of course.
THE CONCEPT: this album started when i realized i was a little too emotionally invested in the internet, social media and technology. it happens. that coincided with my desire to write songs and use my voice in different ways. to find melody and beauty in chaos. and to also write lyrics in a much different way than poetry.
THE SOUND: i wanted this record to sound like the inside of a computer. in doing so, i found samples of circuit bending, static and sparks. all looped, produced and arranged by me. it's glitchy, at times unlistenable, violent, weird, distorted, hyper electronic nonsense. listen with headphones.
WAIT. YOU ARE ... SINGING?: yes. the album is highly conceptual - i distorted my voice throughout and assumed the role of a computer.
IS THERE POETRY?: no.
THE DOWNLOAD: completely free. contains the album (in high-quality mp3s). and a digital booklet with artwork, designed by me. perfect for your mp3 players
DO YOU LIKE PANCAKES?: yes.
WTF. YOU DO MUSIC?: indeed. this is my seventh album since 2003. since i was a little kid. my first "album" was recorded when i was eight. "tape loop" is my alter ego. all of my albums are free and can be found on my web site.
